Assoc. Prof. Ivan Dražić, PhD, is the Head of the Department of Mathematics, Physics and Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Rijeka. His research focuses on the analysis of partial differential equations and the modelling of complex fluids, with additional interests in learning analytics, data-driven approaches, and the application of statistics in medicine and economics.
He is the author of more than 70 scientific and professional publications, many of which have appeared in high-ranking journals and received several hundred citations in the Web of Science database. He has participated in numerous research and professional projects and has presented his work at international conferences. In his teaching, he delivers courses in engineering mathematics and statistics at the Faculty of Engineering, while at PAR University of Applied Sciences, he teaches Mathematics for Economists and Business Statistics, with a strong emphasis on practical application and understanding of mathematical models. He has mentored more than 100 undergraduate and graduate theses and has received awards for teaching excellence and community engagement.
In his free time, he is an avid traveller with a passion for West End and Broadway musicals, opera festivals in Lucerne and the Verona Arena, and exploring authentic cuisine—from Moroccan tagines to Chinese dim sum.
